Spectinlex Colistin
An antibiotic that acts actively against Gram-negative bacterias in animals.
Composition
Each 1 mL contains:
Spectinomycin 50 mg (as dihydrochloride pentahydrate)
Colistin Sulphate 1,200,000 I.U.
Properties
Spectinomycin and Colistin acts against Gram-negative bacteria mainly those responsible for gastroenteritis in newborn and young animals (Colibacilli and Salmonella).
Indications
Used for the prevention and treatment of colibacillary infectious enteritis in kids and lambs. The combination of colistin and spectinomycin acts additively. Colistin is an antibiotic from the group of polymyxins with a bactericidal action against Gram-negative bacteria like E. coli,
Haemophilus and Salmonella spp. Spectinomycin acts bacteriostatic or bactericidal, against mainly Gram-negative bacteria like E. coli, Salmonella spp. and Mycoplasma.
Dosage
2 mL per 1 Litre of drinking water or as advised by a veterinarian.
